The CRR collects safety data all year round, for example at our safety performance review meetings with the various railway organisations. At these meetings railway organisation executive must present their safety performance in the preceding period, e.g., the last 3 months.
Safety performance data in the form of several lagging and leading safety indicators is presented by the railway organisations and detail / explanation is provided when requested. CRR Inspectors will regularly challenge railway organisation executives on what they are doing to prevent reoccurrence and/or to bring about safety improvement.
This review process as indicated, informs us further and contribute to the development of future aspects of the CRR’s supervision plans.
